Green light to test came late Wednesday – success happened today!
For the first time in almost three months, crude petroleum stopped spewing from the site of a massive blowout that sank Deepwater Horizon and killed 11 men on the drilling floor on Earth Day, April 20.
Government officials okayed the test late Wednesday night after engineers modified the “choke” line on the apparatus and lowered a specially made cap that locked into the diameter of the hole by using hydraulic rams.
Company officials rejoiced and President Barack Obama reserved comment until tomorrow when he has had time to study the situation more closely.
Hallelujah, amen and mazel tov.
