Texas Senators backed off a bill that would have banned TSA "pat downs" in airports for those who flunk the metal detector test or refuse a back scatter imaging that affords a look at their nude bodies.
Department of Transportation officials threatened during the regular session to close every airport in Texas, saying that the Constitution would forbid any such nullification of federal law.
Now the original author of HR 1937 is back to reintroduce the legislation during the Special Session in defiance of federal threats.
