McLennan has urged magistrates release parole violators
Hillsboro – Sheriff's officers questioned an Indiana parole violator in the case of a woman whose decomposed remains were found along a lonely stretch of road near Malone.
Family members' worst fears were confirmed when a post-mortem matchup of dental records identified the remains as those of Arlicia D. Williams, 26, of Lacy-Lakeview on Wednesday, August 10.
Investigators found her black Mitsubishi Galant abandoned in the parking lot of a Hillsboro Comfort Inn after confirming that her debit card had been used in a nearby Motel 6. She was last spotted by a video surveillance camera at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Bellmead on August 3, the day family members reported her missing.
Police and a Texas Ranger questioned Joseph Jones, 32, of 1206 Meyers Lane, Lacy Lakeview, as a person of interest in the case. Police in that city booked him into McLennan County Jail on June 28 on charges of assault and unlawful restraint after Ms. Williams filed a complaint.
Mr. Jones was held on those charges and later arrested on a parole violation on a prior Indiana conviction before he was released on July 7 on a $4,000 bond arranged by Pickens Bail Bonds.
I think the parole warrant was issued after he was released on the assault charge. We still don't know that she was the victim in the unlawful restraint or the assault.
