This epic speech delivered by a character portraying a CEO of a multinational corporation which owns a floundering television broadcasting network is a climactic moment in the film "Network," the screenplay for which was written by the legitimate theater dramatist Paddy Chayefsky.
It may be interesting to note that the words of dialogue match very closely those of a Senior Vice President of the Bank of America delivered only a few months prior regarding the new nature of finance, business, media, money, and, ultimately, the power of television.
