According to an order signed Tuesday by the clerk of the state's highest court, Judge Adams agreed to the commission's recommended temporary suspension and waived the hearing and notice requirements.
The judge does not admit "guilt, fault or wrongdoing" regarding the allegations. A county court-at-law judge, he routinely rules on whether state child protective services authorities should place children in foster homes pending investigations of abuse and violence claims against parents.
Judge Adams' now 23-year-old daughter Hillary Adams uploaded the secretly-recorded 2004 video of her father beating her repeatedly with a belt for making illegal downloads from the internet.
Well, how about that! As I can recall, I was whipped with a belt myself twice in my life and distinctly remember the reasons. The punishment worked and it certainly has made me a better person for it. My advice is to "SHUT UP AND LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKE" and hats off for taking the steps to discipline your child. The threat of a spanking and the apparent disappointment of the parent towards the child has always made an impression on me. I was never chastised in that way without a heart to heart discussion afterward to explain just what was going on and how the parent was disappointed in this behavior . This represents tough love and should be left to the parents to decide, although any excessive actions should be dealt with through the appropriate channels.
