Amanda Knox freed and cleared of muder charges
Perugia - The Italian appeals court reversed the conviction for murder of Amanda Knox and her co-defendant after a weeks-long hearing and an emotional personal appeal from the defendant.
Ms. Knox, an American, was charged with the murder of her British roommate.
Ms. Knox's conviction for slander of another person wrongly accused was upheld and she was sentenced to 3 years confinement, but released with credit for time served and ordered to pay court costs and other fees.
