DHS warns of Anonymous plot to shut down NYSE site
New York – White House press spokesman Jay Carney told newsmen that he is sure the President is aware of the level of involvement of Anonymous in the Occupy Wall St. movement.
The group is rumored to be plotting to shut down on October 10 a website operated by the New York Stock Exchange for its member firms while trading is handled by a separate computer system located in New Jersey. The Department of Homeland Security has issued a warning to that effect.
Anonymous will not comment, saying because of its decentralized structure and lack of hierarchical organization, the rumor could either be true, or perhaps false and part of a false flag operation of the government, corporations, or both, to disinform the public.
The secret hackers' organization, which prides itself on its lack of organization, is said to have shut down websites operated by organizations as potent as the CIA and to have crippled at least temporarily the operations of Visa and MasterCard's systems.
