This is a popular Legendary article first published in Dec. 2010 regarding passage of a nullification act legalizing the cultivation and marketing of certain agricultural products intended to be used within the boundaries of a state and nowhere else. (click here to read the article)Model legislation drafted by The Tenth Amendment Center would make it unnecessary to interfere with the affairs of adjacent states or to seek their approval - or that of the federal government.
The notion is not only entirely practical, it was anticipated by the framers of the U.S. Constitution, who foresaw a need for just such a mechanism by which to guarantee the sovereignty of the individual states in order to get their approval for ratification of the Constitution.
