“Why Democrats love to spy on Americans”

Michael Hastings' last article
The man who wrote a “Rolling Stone” profile that ended the career of a commanding general simply because of the way the general thought, talked and acted in his presence, met his maker at 04:25 when his Mercedes Benz suddenly "jack knifed" across a Los Angeles street, hit a tree, and an explosion threw the engine block 30 to 40 yards.
Michael Hastings' body was burned “beyond recognition,” according to officials.
Witnesses described a very loud boom, an explosion that rattled the windows of homes in the pre-dawn single-car accident.
Accident?
Engines in Mercedes Benz muscle cars weigh anywhere from 300 to 500 pounds. What kind of explosion – or collision, for that matter – would throw such a heavy object half a football field?
We may never know.
This is the lead on the last article Michael Hastings ever wrote:
For most bigwig Democrats in Washington, D.C., the last 48 hours has delivered news of the worst kind — a flood of new information that has washed away any lingering doubts about where President Obama and his party stand on civil liberties, full stop.
Glenn Greenwald’s exposure of the NSA’s massive domestic spy program has revealed the entire caste of current Democratic leaders as a gang of civil liberty opportunists, whose true passion, it seems, was in trolling George W. Bush for eight years on matters of national security.
“Everyone should just calm down,” Senator Harry Reid said yesterday, inhaling slowly.

General Stanley McChrystal
That’s right: don’t panic.
