The Response: For a nation in crisis

Governor Rick Perry and friends are inviting Americans to come to Reliant Stadium in Houston on August 6 to pray about things we can't fix on our own.

“The Response: a call to prayer for a nation in crisis,” is announced by video trailers featuring the Governor and ordinary citizens which begin with a litany of the problems Americans are hard pressed to deal with.

Natural disaster. War. Financial debt. Terrorism.

The list goes on.

In humility, Mr. Perry says in a one-minute video spot, “Some problems are beyond our power to solve, and according to the Book of Joel, Chapter 2, this historic hour demands a historic response...”

He reminds his listeners that Jesus did the same when he prayed and fasted during his ministry. Mr. Perry calls upon his constiuents to join him in a spiritual approach to help a nation "adrift in a sea of moral relativism."

The faithful are invited to gather with Governor in prayer about those problems during the hours of 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
