Waco – McLennan County Commissioners approved a $30,000 remodeling job on the old Karem Shrine Temple that will allow it to be used as a new courtroom – after the job was completed.

County Engineer Steve Hendrik filed no purchase order for the job, which was performed by a company in which his father, C.L. Hendrik, of TAM Property Management, is a key player.

The company has an ongoing relationship with McLennan County. During the 2009 fiscal year, TAM Property Management billed the county $114,524.64 for various services, according to a check run obtained by The Legendary in a Public Information Act request.
