“Stress Inoculation” - This Is Not For The Faint Of Heart

Operant conditioning for the commandos who go “in harm's way” - extreme, exacting, state-of-the-art and all the way live - in stereo and surround sound

There is a hell hole on the top of the world, located in a buffer zone between the Mojave and the Sonoran deserts. It's a place of craggy mountain passes and unforgiving terrain, cracker dry atmosphere and optical illusions brought on by heat and dust.

Twenty-Nine Palms U.S. Marine Corps Base is many things - gunnery range, combat insertion and extraction flight training center – but now it's something else again.

I warn you. Don't click on this hyperlink if you can't take the sight of blood and the stress of exploding rockets, small arms fire and men at arms screaming out for what's needed on a moment-to-moment basis.

This is as real as it gets and it will make you think twice about hostility and the basic nature of war, that noble profession of exerting through organized, sanctioned violence the political will of one nation state upon that of another.

If you want a dose of what's going on, then copy this link and paste it in your web search engine. But I warn you, fasten your seat belt. It's gonna be a bumpy ride. Think of it this way. Gen. McChrystal wasn't kidding when he told that "Rolling Stone" reporter that when it all comes down to the nut cuttin', they fight for each other - their brothers in arms - and not for some politician or the flag, or even mom and apple pie.
