The Legendary, Candidate Make Open Records Request
BULLETIN: A BRA OFFICIAL RESPONDED TO THE REQUEST
WITHIN THE HOUR. - The Legendary
The losing candidate in the Texas Senatorial District 22
Republican Primary signaled he is going to maintain a
proactive posture in remarks today.
Adding fuel to the fire, Senatorial Candidate Darren Yancy
and The Legendary made a Texas Open Records Act request of
the Brazos River Authority Thursday.
"Please forward evidence of all work performed on
maintenance of the Morris Sheppard Dam since 1991," the
communication reads between Yancy, The Legendary and
Industrial and Customer Relations Manager Matt Phillips at
the Authority.
Citing certified copies in hand of audit reports obtained
from the Texas Bond Review Board at Austin, the senatorial
candidate said, "If the work has been done, there's a paper
trail...Go to BRA and request all invoices and
receipts...There's been a whole lot of money allocated for
upkeep on that dam."
As a government entity, the Brazos River Authority must
respond within 10 days or state the date when the
information may be reasonably produced, according to the
Texas Government Code, Chapter 552.
