  2. I think that's why my grand daughter, Miss Allison Parks, is named Allison, though I am merely speculating. I do know that when her daddy was a little feller, he used to laugh and cut up when I would sing him "Whatever you do, don't buy yo' woman no shoes." It was one of the numbers Mose used to always do when he played the City, back in the day. Then I told him about The Seventh Son, and how my birthday is 7/21/49, that 7 threes are 21 and 7 sevens forty-nine. Hit him with that mystic, cabalistic stuff, man. Kid went straight to the crossroads and started learning chords, everthang like that. You could say my young'uns come by it honest.- The Legendary

  3. An old cat who played bass turned me on to Mose Allison when I lived in a working man's hotel south of the slot. He had pulled a couple of jolts at Q. We used to drink Maxwell House and dig a side or two of Mose from time to time. His rhythm etudes are impeccable and the changes are bleu en bleu en bleu, ami. Comes at you out the fog, it does, works your nerves, make a man think, think, think - yeah. - The Legendary
