Americans say they are deeply divided on core issues

Nearly 7 out of 10 Americans polled think the nation is very divided in their opinions about the core issues that hold society together.

Of these, about 8 out of 10 Republicans agree that the nation is polarized about core issues, though all political persuasions are represented in the view.
