A 31-year-old Waco man remains in jail under a $35,000 bond, charged with continuing sexual abuse of his 8 year-old daughter.
Richard Santamaria came voluntarily to the McLennan County Sheriff's and admitted that for a period of 2 and a half years, he has committed indecent sexual acts with his 8-year-old daughter, often as many as 3 times a month.
Based on his voluntary admission, Detective Jason Davis prepared an arrest warrant and Judge Billy Martin arraigned him on the charge, conviction for which carries the penalty of life imprisonment, or a period of not less than 25, nor more than 99 years.

For Rizal.
ReplyDeleteWow why am I not surprised. And the church he goes to claims to teach the only way to heaven.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, he hasn't been a member of that Church for quite some time. His crime is sick almost beyond comprehension, and shouldn't be minimalized in any way. But your rush to indict what turns out to be his former church shows off your true colors.
ReplyDeleteAnd, as to the jab about their teachings, they believe nothing of the sort.
There is a term for what you did in that last post; I believe it's called a drive by shooting.......
He was raised there though....
ReplyDeleteThe probable cause affidavit filed in support of the arrest warrant shows that Mr. Santamaria walked in the door and confessed to these heinous crimes. I don't know what that says about his spiritual condition, nor do I know anything about what bearing his former or present church affiliations may have on the case against him. It occurs to me that it is what it is. There is nothing more or less to it. The case definitely bears watching.

I will not print any comments about Mr. Santamaria's church affiliations, past or present. The issue is not relevant. - The Legendary
ReplyDeletewords cannot describe how wrong these actions are. i hope the best for his hopefully ex-wife and children. whom he doesn't deserve either...
ReplyDeleteYou state "he has not been a member of that church for some time." That statement is misleading, to say the least. Try for about a month. He confessed to the elders approximately a month before turning himself in. He was kicked out of the church when he confessed, but his crimes were handled internally - read: His crimes were NOT reported to authorities by the elders who now had the information. Not disparaging his religious affiliations (Mr. The Legendary), but these are the relevant facts that "definitely bear(s) watching." I feel sorry for he and his family (4 children total). Even he might have been able to get some (professional) help prior to his crimes if it wasn't discouraged by their group (and please don't try to mislead us again by stating that it isn't discouraged).
ReplyDeleteMr. Santamaria has given a statement to the authorities. This seems to have satisfied the burden of proof. Why not wait and let the authorities serve as finders of fact in this unfortunate case? - The Legendary
ReplyDeleteI love how, when I brought up the last guy from homestead heritage convicted of molestation to my brother that is a member, his reply was simply, "it happens everywhere, Im sure it happens in your church all the time" at some point u have to wonder why this stuff happens there so much..
ReplyDeleteIt is what it is and as Legendary said his church affiliation, (if any), is not revelant in this case...I agree....
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was feeling very low about these off the wall comments about Mr. Santamaria's church affiliation. I have great respect for people of faith, and do not wish to see them belittled over the actions of one of their flock gone astray. No. That's not what I'm about.

Okay how bout 2? I know of about 10.. and what i heard is that there were people praying for a miracle that he would not get jail time??? That's typical of h h
DeleteOkay how about 2? I know of about 10.. I also heard there were people praying for a miracle that he would not get jail time?? Do I believe this I would say yes before no because I use to be there. I know how they think and that sounds very typical of them. And why don't you other people man up and quit being anonymous.
DeleteWhat's missing on these posts is an expression of empathy for an irretrievably broken family...children, spouse, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents...all broken over the actions of one they trusted. The legal system can mete out justice for the accused, but no amount of justice can heal his family. Pray that they find solace in each other and that they have friends who will reach out to them.
ReplyDeleteUltimately we are each responsible for our deeds or misdeeds.
ReplyDeleteIs that why everyone here is named "Anonymous" with the exception of The Legendary?
ReplyDeleteThe Legendary
I agree. Why is everyone "Anonymous"? I'm not. I'm Karen Akers. My sister is married to this jerk. While I don't think the church had a part in this, I do feel they handled it badly. They don't condone this behavior but they sure are prone to it. I hope he rots in hell for hurting my neice.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen for speaking exactly what i feel as well. It makes me sick to think that Rick lived at our house for almost 2 years and committed these crimes later as an adult...now my childhood includes a murderer ( Kelly) and a child molester who resided in our house while I was raised in that church. Creepy I tell you. I respect those who are innocent, God fearing people, but I cannot be happier that I'm no longer a member of that group. Too much craziness for me.
ReplyDeleteI am in tears. I cannot bear this thought. I loved Ricky and his wife so much...
ReplyDeleteWhy are all these people anonymous? If you're too coward to show your identity you should not be replying to these conversations.
