The mocking tone of the anti-Islamic movie, “Innocence of Muslims” is meant to provoke radical reactions from Muslims, according to its producer and director.

Moris Sadek is an Israeli with dual U.S. citizenship who premiered his movie in Los Angeles to a mostly empty theater. His stated intention is to show what he considers the hypocrisy of the Islamic faith and mock its greatest prophet, Mohammed. Mr. Sadek is a real estate developer.

Islamic radicals continued to demonstrate over the movie in Gaza, burning American flags, carrying black banners, and spray painting graffiti that characterizes America and Israel as Satanic influences in the world.

The U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three staff members perished in a rocket attack at the eastern coastal port city of Benghazi in the early evening hours of 9/11. Earlier that day, demonstrators breached the security of the U.S. Embassy at Cairo, vaulting over the wall and desecrating the U.S. flag after replacing it with a black banner.
