Wisconsin judge rules anti-union law unconstitutional

Madison – Though it's not clear if the law will take effect immediately, a Wisconsin Dane County Circuit Judge declared the state law that effectively ended collective bargaining rights for most state workers null and void.

Judge Juan Colas ruled just before quitting time that the law violates both the Wisonsin and U.S. Constitutions.

His opinion came in the conclusion of a lawsuit filed by the Madison Teachers Union and Milwaukee city employees.

A spokesman for Governor Scott Walker told newsmen he is confident the decision will be overturned on appeal.
