General Blames Army Commanders For Rampage

He calls the Army's lack of discipline tolerance of terrorism

A former top commander of an elite military unit accused top
Army officers of being afraid to confront radical Islamic
terrorism because of misguided political correctness.

Retired Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin blamed reluctance by U.S. Army
commanders to deal with terrorism in its own ranks for the shoot-
ing rampage perpetrated by Army psychiatrist Major Nidal Hasan
at Ft. Hood.

"That was an act of terrorism," said Gen. Boykin.

Dr. Hasan opened fire with a powerful handgun at a Soldier
Readiness Center where he was going through processing for de-
ployment to Iraq.

He killed 13 and wounded 30 soldiers on Nov. 5, 2009, after
several months of posting Islamic sermons on his blog, e-mailing
Al-Quaeda leaders and denouncing Christian values openly to
soldiers he had been assigned to counsel for mental difficulties.

Speaking to an interviewer on Christian Broadcasting Network,
Gen. Boykin said "He was subscribing to an Islamic jihadist
ideology. He was a terrorist and nobody wanted to deal with it."

He warned listeners that unless the top brass in the U.S. Armed
Forces begins to take action against Islamic soldiers, sailors
and Marines in uniform, the constitutional principles of American
military doctrine will be replaced with the notions of Sharia
extremism.

Gen. Boykin was an original member of the Army's elite commando
unit, Delta Force. He was the commanding officer at the battle
of Mogadishu, an event chronicled in the motion picture,
"Blackhawk Down."

Knowledgeable observers say the general's career came to a
bittersweet end when he began to give open evidence of his own
strong Christian beliefs.

"I think everyone in America today is aware that it's acceptable to
persecute a Christian..."

He concluded the interview by saying, "They're afraid to offend a
Muslim."

A Rasmussen poll showed that more than 60 percent of active duty
Army personnel agree with Gen. Boykin. They indicated Dr. Hasan
should be prosecuted by a military tribunal for a terroristic act.
