Tea Party Founder Resigns, Organizes New Outfit

Abrupt move came after an attempted "hostile takeover"

A veteran Tea Party organizer stayed true to her guiding
principles in the face of criticism over a refusal to grant
her organization's endorsement of a Congressional candidate.

The three principles of the movement are less government
intrusion, fiscal responsibility and strict construction of
constitutional principles.

They espouse no individual candidates or party affiliations
in their work of challenging deficit spending and what they
view as an increased liberalization of the view politicians
take of the bedrock principles of the U.S. Constitution.

Burleson Tea Party founder and Chairman Angela Cox abruptly
resigned over the weekend, announcing and dismantlement of
that Tea Party and the immediate organization of a new Tea
Party on her Facebook wall.

"I hereby resign my position as Chairman/Founder of The
Burleson Tea Party, effective immediately. I, as
Chairman/Founder, do hereby, dissolve and dismantle The
Burleson Tea Party, effective immediately as well. I make
this decision after careful consideration in examining the
possible detrimental effects, that The BTP would encounter,
due to an existing hostile takeover. We are forming a new
tea party!"

The Johnson County Tea Party is eagerly awaiting its new
articles of incorporation, according to Mrs. Cox, who
described her quick decision on an attempted "hostile
takeover" by another activist in the Burleson area.

Reportedly, fellow Burleson Tea Party activist Keith Kelly
reversed his original policy to donate signs and banners
produced at his area place of business and invoiced the
Burleson Tea Party for the services. He is said by
knowledgeable insiders to have been irked by Mrs. Cox's
refusal to endorse Rob Curnock for the Congressional
District 17 nomination.

The move precipitated a move toward ousting Mrs. Cox from
her position in the organization, something she thwarted by
simply disbanding the Burleson Tea Party in favor of
organizing a new one under the aegis of the Johnson County
Tea Party.

Mr. Curnock, a former sports anchor for Waco's CBS outlet,
KWTX Channel 10, is a video tape producer in that city. He
came in second in a run-off election with former Houston oil
executive Bill Flores of Bryan, the Republican nominee to
oppose veteran U.S. Representative Chet Edwards of the
Democratic Party.

  1. I found this article very informative and up-to-date. I totally agree with the views of the writer that the custom signs play an important role in order to increase the business profits and build brand image of your company among the masses. These signs not only help your existing customers find your place of business, but also help you draw high percentage of the potential customers into clients and increase profitability of the company. These signs are very vital to your business success.

  2. I think it is time for the citizens of Burleson, Tx. to call Ms. Angie Cox out. She needs to tell the truth about really happened with Burleson Tea Party. There was and never has been a hostile takeover of the BTP. This is something she has dreamed up to save face, after she has been called out about her behavior as a radical at a community event and team members finally got tired of her dictatoship qualities when leading the BTP. This story of a hostile takeover is a fabrication that she has made up, because not one of us set out to have a war with Angie. It is to bad that she just cannot move and do the things that is important, because God says vengence is His and all I can say is God help.

  3. How dare Angela Cox blame an upstanding businessman, Keith Kelly, for her disbanding the BTP.That is so far from the actually truth it is unbelievable. What she is referring to happened in February of this year. Maybe you should ask Angie what happened in June at the grand opening of the BRICk recreation center in Burleson? Her behavior crossed the line of what is appropriate at a family, community event which was not political in any way.I am a former member of the BTP and I left because Angie is exactly what we are trying to rid ourselves of in Washington, D.C. She does not like anyone to challenge her and if and when you do, you are removed from the BTP team by her. I hope and pray that her actions do not come to hurt the nationwide movement of the tea parties.I will also say there was never any attempt at a hostile takeover of the BTP and her reasons for disbanding it are just false.

  4. I would like to tell the truth about why the BTP really dismantled. It was not and is not in any way a hostile takeover as Ms. Cox would have everyone believe. It also had nothing to do with what Keith Kelly did with the signs or the endorsing of Rob Curnock. The truth is that Angie's behavior at a community dedication was radical and unacceptable at such an event. The truth is that she is trying to either save her reputation or to use this for polital gain at some point. Ms. Cox failed to tell everyone that Mr. Kelly returned all of the monies for any signs that he had printed. To my knowledge he has never taken a dime for anything he has given towards the BTP. I think it is time that all the facts are told from both sides.

  5. This is my second comment....my first one never got published. It appears you are not interested in hearing both sides of a story, if so you would post my first one where I was defending Keith Kelly. I guess you had to check with Angie to get her permission to post it....is that the case? What happened to freedom of speech? If you want to know the truth listen to both sides of a controversy.

  7. I'm a past team member of the BTP. There wasn't a hostile take over. There was just just encouragement for Angie to allow a board of directors be set in place. She wouldn't hear of it! If you disagreeed with her she cut you from the team or roster. We just need to do what is best to take our country back! Time is short until Nov! Concerned conservatives started a new group (Texas Patriots Tea Party) We've got to get unified --it doesn't matter who gets the credit, but that we just reach our goal!!

    1. I never new Angela Cox personally. I became a Facebook friend somehow (friend of a friend) and I've noticed that about Ms. Cox. She's extremely sensitive to criticism and has an "off-with-your-head" attitude toward anyone who dares to disagree on *any* minor point.

From what I observed, she seems to bask a little too much in her celebrity status and rubbing elbows with the political elite. The way she's posts "selfies" in her flowing blond hair and tight fitting strapless evening wear at political events, she'll quickly manage to cultivating her position as the newest bimbo on the block.

It won't be long before destruction follows her arrogant self-righteous pride. It's an easy trap to fall into. She's too busy insulting her Facebook friends.

  8. By keeping this in the news like Angie has chosen to do helps only the other side. They are looking for any and everything to find fault with the tea party and hoping that we all fall by the wayside. This all needs to go away and move on as Angie keeps reminding everyone that she has done, because our time is short until November and who really cares what happened to the BTP now except Angie and the other side. I will assure everyone there was and is no hostile takeover of the BTP. Everyone just got tired of doing everything her way or no way. Total control over every decision made was not the way many team members chose, so they moved on and started another organized Tea Party that that met their needs. There is no reason to keep this going except to make everyone believe that Angie was a victim of a hostile takeover. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
